A New Jersey father was arrested Tuesday outside a restaurant after he choked his 9-year-old daughter and dragged her aggressively as people watched.
Scott. W. Alino, 47, was charged with child neglect following the incident when he assaulted his daughter outside Hogfish Bar and Grill, choking her to the near point of losing consciousness.
When confronted by people, Alino reportedly insulted them and refused to be advised how to raise his children. The man told officers the same thing, claiming that he just put his hands on the girl to calm her down.
The girl was approached by police but declined to talk to them fearing her father's punishment.
Alino was booked into the Monroe County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in court on May 9.
