Authorities are still investigating the murder of a former pro hockey player and a criminal justice advocate whose bodies were found in a California condo late Sunday night while the case was considered as a double homicide.

News outlets reported that Wendi Miller, 48, and Darren Partch, 38, were found dead by Partch's roommate who notified police.

Wendi and Partch were seen for the last time exiting a Laguna Beach bar around 1:45 a.m.

Officials confirmed that their killings are an "isolated incident" that could not cause any threat to individuals there.

Via Facebook, Miller's son said: "I have no doubt in my mind that she was loved on earth and I'm happy that she gets to be loved ever better in heaven. I love you mom."
