Denver area schools locked out amid massive manhunt for armed woman

Denver news, Colorado news.

Denver authorities have ordered more than 20 Jefferson County schools to close for Wednesday as they intensify their search for an armed woman who was considered dangerous and supportive of the Columbine mass shooting.

Only four days before the 20th anniversary of the massacre, Sol Pais, 18, reportedly made threats of targeting the high school and triggered a massive manhunt on Wednesday. "We take these threats seriously, it is certainly not the first threat that we've had involving Columbine high school," Sheriff Jeff Shrader said. "This opens a wound, especially on anniversary week for those families who are most deeply impacted by this."

Pais was described as a white woman, 5-feet 5-inches tall with brown hair. She was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, camouflage pants and black boots.
