An Arkansas woman has been killed after being mistaken for a deer by a hunter.
Jane Rust,72-year-old woman, was with her sister when she was mistakenly shot by Dale Williams, a 61-year-old local hunter on November, 11 according to reports.
The victim was taking photos of the woods in autumn when she was shot.
Sheriff Larry Jones from the Johnson Sheriff Department said that the hunter was following a deer that jumped where Jane was, he thought she was the deer and shot. "When you pull that trigger, you don't know where it is going to end up" he said.
The hunter did not know about his fatal shot, and it took police 40 minutes to arrive at the scene. The Johnson Sheriff's Department is investigating the incident.
