The White House: Acosta's press pass restoration will be temporary

6years ago

CNN reported on Sunday night that the White House sent a letter to Jim Acosta informing him that his press pass will be suspended again after the expiration of the restraining order at the end of the month.

On Friday, US District Judge Timothy.J Kelly issued the 14-day restraining order that require the White House officials to reinstate Acosta's credentials, after CNN filed a lawsuit against Trump's administration, whichhad revoked the journalist's press pass. The judge ordered the temporary reinstatement of Acosta's press pass while the lawsuit proceeds.

CNN reacted to the White House letter in a statement released Sunday: "These actions threaten all journalists and news organizations" adding that "Jim Acosta and CNN will continue to report news about the White House and the President."
