2 inmates' deaths raise suspicions at French Robertson Unit Jail

Investigation is still ongoing inside the French Robertson Unit in north Abilene following the suspicious death of two inmates at their cells this current month.

According to the TDCJ director of communication Jeremy Desel, prison officers found 35-year-old Quinton Thompson not breathing and apparently unresponsive in his cell last Saturday around 9:59 p.m. After a failed attempt by the emergency team to revive him, he died shortly afterwards at the prison's medical unit. His death was considered a homicide.

On March 4, Victor Reyna, 28-year-old, was found dead inside his cell around 6:50 p.m. : "Currently, the cause of death remains unknown pending toxicology results," Desel stated.
