The father of a California missing boy was formally charged Thursday with the murder and abuse of his child.
Authorities are now intensifying the search in order to find the remains of of the 8-year-old Noah McIntosh: "It is unfortunate and with a heavy heart that I must let the community know that the missing-child investigation regarding Noah McIntosh has now been escalated to a homicide case," Corona Police Chief George Johnstone told reporters.
Authorities found relevant evidence that determined the boy's killing: "We did collect trace evidence that leaves no doubt that Noah is a victim of homicide," Johnstone stated.
If he found guilty, Bruce McIntosh, 32-year-old, will likely receive a life in jail without possibility of parole sentence.
