R.J. Larizza, the 7th Circuit State Attorney, announced Thursday afternoon, the indictment of Gregory Ramos, a 15-year-old accused of killing his mother and burying her body, as an adult by a grand jury of first-degree premeditated murder.
"He will be transferred to adult court and he will be prosecuted in the adult court system" Larizza said, adding that she won't seek death penalty against him because he is a juvenile.
After strangling his mother to death after an argument over his poor grade, he managed to bury the body. Then with the help of two friends of his, planned to stage a burglary at his home to cover up the crime.
The suspect, who describes himself as a "raging conservative" in social media, faces at least 40 years with a review of the sentence after serving 25 years.
