Man laid off from job attacks parents, fatally stabs mom

A 29-year-old Long Island man allegedly stabbed his mother by knife to death and left his father with serious wounds after a familial dispute inside their Syosset house.

Police said that Ian Kazer who was laid off from his job on Wednesday entered in a agressive argument with his parents. He then grabbed the knife from the kitchen and stabbed his mother Frances Kazer, 66-year-old, many times including in the upper torso and neck before attacking his father Ian Kazer, 69, in the chest, media outlets said.

The couple were rushed to the hospital where Frances was prounonced dead while her husband was listed in a good state.

Their son was taken into custody. He was formally charged with second-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder.
