Police said Leanora Propes of Scranton had sex with a 14-year-old girl last summer to help her cope with depression. The boyfriend of Propes is imprisoned.
Propes faces charges of anticipated sexual violence. She had sex with a teenager, while her boyfriend, Glenn James Marr, was incarcerated.
According to the police, Propes told the investigators that she had an intimate relationship with the young woman because she was alone and depressed. Marr, 34, was charged with obstruction for providing investigators with false information.
Marr, of Binghamton, NY, first recounted the sexual encounter of Propes with the teenager. The victim, who also denied the charges in the beginning, then told the investigators that he and Propes had had four dating while Marr was in jail, the police said.
According to the Tribune-Review, Propes and Marr were free after bail and should appear in court on Wednesday.
