Wisconsin man arrested in connection with a bank robbery said he felt like trying “something new” that day.

Xengxai Yang, 19, of Appleton, Wisconsin, arrested on Monday in connection with a bank robbery with a "dangerous weapon" told police he wanted to try "something new" that day, according to a criminal complaint.

He was sentenced to bail of $ 250,000 and is currently detained at Outagamie County Jail. His next hearing is scheduled for March 28.

The robbery took place on March 15 at Community First Credit Union in Appleton.

A bank teller had seen a person wearing black clothes, a mask and holding a rifle. The masked person asked for $ 10,000 and the cashiers gave him the money.

When the police arrived at the scene, they saw a man come out of the bank wearing black clothes. The police who searched the man found a .22 caliber rifle.

Police said they recovered more than $ 10,000 in cash from the suspect.
