A US citizen has been apprehended in Tokyo after he allegedly attacked his estranged wife as she entered the City Family Court where they were about to settle divorce on Wednesday.
The unidentified 32-year-old man stabbed his wife Kyoko Wilson, 31-year-old, in the neck at the court entrance near a security check. Wilson was rushed to a nearby hospital where she died.
Police officers and court guards were able to arrest the suspect in a local park as he attempted to run away. Officers retrieved three knives in his possession.
The suspect's identity and the motive of the incident remain unclear. The suspect's mental health issues may be a potential factor in the murder case.
