According to prosecutors and police officers, Anthony Bradford of Bedford, 55, was sentenced to 20 years in prison after stabbing his girlfriend, Laverne Spencer, 55, 20 times to death at his home on July 2, 2017
That night, prosecutors said paramedics found Bradford covered in blood, claiming he did "a very bad thing" and that he was "going to jail for a long time".
The couple had returned from a barbecue on July 4th.
Spencer was stabbed in the chest, arms and legs, investigators said.
"I hope the accused's guilty plea and sentence will bring comfort to the woman, family and friends of the victim."
Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said.
