Washington news, Washington news.

Roger Stone will face the trial that is scheduled is scheduled for Nov. 5 and is expected to last about two weeks, in front of a federal courthouse in Washington DC, for lying while trying to secretly contact WikiLeaks in 2016, said Thursday Judge Amy Berman Jackson.

Stone had pleaded not guilty to seven counts of obstruction, lying to Congress and falsifying witnesses, and was released on bail after his arrest seven weeks ago.

The trial is taking place so far into the future because of the wealth of evidence on file.

The case is being pursued by the team of special advocate Robert Mueller and prosecutors from the DC's US Attorney's Office.
