A Marshville suspect has been arrested after he discarded 8 newborn pupppies in a trash can.
Robert Wild, 56-year-old, admitted to authorities that he put the eight puppies inside a garbage bag, then discarded them into the trash can.
The little animals have been transferred to a shelter where they are "safe and in foster care," but won't be allowed for adoption until "they grew up big and strong first."
The puppies were reported to police on Feb.28 by a witness who described hearing sound of kittens from the trash can, responding officers confirmed that the sound was from the puppies.
Wild will likely face mistreatment and abandonment of animals, according to Wood County District Attorney's Office.
