According to police, the body found Tuesday in Edgecombe County is that of 38-year-old North Carolina nurse who has vanished since March 9.
According to the Nash County Sheriff's Office, Alejandra Keel was reported vanished by her teenager girl. Her car was discovered at her home parking in Nashville.
The victim's husband is currently a person of interest in the crime.
According to the husband claims, the woman "leaves from time to time and will stay gone a couple of days."
Nash County Sheriff Keith Stone said: "This is a homicide investigation at this time. The cause of death was the act of someone. There is a killer on the loose."
It is believed that the couple has known many difficulties in their relationship for the last years.
