Man arrested after threatening African-American and Jewish people

Authorities said that a Union City man has encouraged violence toward African-American natives and Jewish amid several phone calls he made between last December and February.

The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office stated that 44-year-old Steve Ortiz intentionally made threatening phone calls to a private business in Edgewater, the government officials, River Edge, West New York, New Mexico and many others.

During all his phone calls. Ortiz insisted to keep his identity unanimous amid a high technology that he used.

He was apprehended last month in Hicksville and booked in the Bergen County Jail facing charges of touristic threat and bias intimidation and false public alarm.
