News outlets reported that a professional boxer remains in serious state after he was injured in a drive by shooting in California last Sunday.
24-year-old Izaac Colunga was in a going away party that took place at a Riverside residence when suddenly, someone opened fire at him.
"Bullet is lodged in his vertebrae," the athlete's family stated.
Another man was hurt in the incident but he remains in a stable condition.
According to authorities, the featherweight was not the "intended target."
Colunga's mother said: "So, we just got to pray and believe that he is going to get feeling back in his arms, and his legs, and be able to be the athlete that he is."
Authorities intensified the search for the shooters and asked for the public's help.
