Rapper Chris King fatally shot in Nashville; Celebs mourn passing of ‘1 Man Army’ hitmaker

Rapper Chris King was gunned down in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday, authorities confirmed. He was 32.

King, whose real name was Christopher Cheeks, was fatally shot in a downtown alley while hanging out with friends.

The Nashville Police Department said that the shooting stemmed from an attempted robbery.

“The (surviving) 29-year-old victim reported the group was hanging out cordially for some time before the three suspects attempted to rib his group of friends,” officials said.

“It was then that he heard gunfire and realized he was struck.”

    “I love you until we meet again twin,” Rapper Trippie Redd posted. “He had the best energy always he had so many friends and it shows I love you guys for supporting one of my best friends ever my brother.”

    Machine Gun Kelly added that “Chris was rare” while Keke Palmer recalled how she and King started their artistic careers together.

    “I can’t believe I’m saying rest in peace,” she posted on Instagram along with a nostalgic snap of her and the “1 Man Army” hitmaker.

    “This is terrible. I really don’t know what to say. I just want to share that I loved you and I remember all the city walk, grove moments.”
