The parents of a Mississippi teen accused of accidentally shooting and killing his friend last month are now facing charges, authorities announced.

The 13-year-old boys were reportedly “playing with a handgun” without the supervision of an adult on March 15 when one of them “accidentally pulled the trigger” fatally striking the other.

First responders were called to the scene in Delta town and provided life-saving treatment but the child died from his injuries at the hospital.
