California man charged with murder 6 months after reporting wife; mother-in-law missing

Authorities in San Pablo, California are actively looking for the remains of a woman and her mother who were reported missing six months ago by their suspected killer.

Phuc Vo told police in mid-September that his 40-year-old wife Tho Ly and her 74-year-old mother Que Tran disappeared following an argument on Sept. 6.

Authorities started a weeks-long search for the two women until December when Vo lied about not knowing where his missing wife’s car was.

  • “And then on the same day, Mr. Vo is seen entering his wife’s vehicle and actually seen moving it, driving away and parking it at a different location.”

    Officers obtained a search warrant of the family’s home and determined that the two women had been murdered.

    Vo was arrested and charged with two counts of murder with special circumstances enhancements.

    “As of now, the victims have not been located. We are still actively processing evidence and following up on leads,” police said.
