Man charged following an investigation into historical sexual abuse of two boys while in his care- Sydney Metropolitan area.

In July 2016, investigators from the Child Abuse and Gender Working Group opened an investigation following reports that a 15-year-old boy was sexually assaulted by a male caregiver earlier that year.

As part of their investigation, the investigators also spoke to a boy who was sexually assaulted by a guide between 2006 and 2008, at the age of 11.

After thorough investigations, investigators arrested an 83-year-old man in a Cranbrook home on Friday (February 15, 2019).

He was taken to the Penrith Police Station and charged with recruiting a child under the age of 14 for pornographic purposes, the victim of an inappropriate assault under the age of 16, and having had intercourse. sexual intercourse with a person under the auspices of 16-17 year olds.

The man was denied bail and appeared before the local Penrith court, where he refused to be on bail to reappear in the same court on Friday, March 1, 2019.
