Dad accused of telling teens to lie to police after fatal shooting sentenced

The Pennsylvania father who is accused of instructing his son and friends to lie to investigators and clean their guns after a fatal shooting has been sentenced to 18 months in jail, according to prosecutors.

Stephen Strickland, 51, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor counts of hindering apprehension and tampering with evidence after he had chosen not to report the crime to authorities and ordered his 18-year-old son and three of his pals to wash their hands and clear the guns.

Strickland's son and the three other suspects were accused of killing 19-year-old Iziah Ramon Lewis in October 2016, a former Pennridge High School football player amid a drug transaction.

The father has been sentenced to serve between six and 18 months in prison. He also will have to serve 200 hours of community service.
