A dog is found set on fire and shelter officials say "recovery may not be an option"

According to a report, Richmond Animal Care and Control announced Wednesday that its treatment plans were changing for the dog named Tommie. The shelter says Tommie was tied to a pole in a city park, set on fire on Sunday.

It was initially thought that he had burns covering about half of his body. The shelter says he has burns that almost completely cover his body and they have gotten worse. The center says that Tommie's pain is "under treatment" and that they will consult veterinary staff on possible options.

More than $ 10,000 was raised to reward information leading to the Tommie Abuse Suspect.
