Several people were stranded on Mount Baldy during the night after extreme weather conditions left drivers stranded by the cold.
Problems apparently began on Sunday around 5 pm as people tried to leave the scene, without bringing chains to face the slippery and snow-covered roads.
The California Highway Patrol said there was some kind of mudslide or rocks earlier in the afternoon, blocking the road. people without chains had great difficulty going down the mountain.
There were reports of some accidents, but there was no word on their gravity.
Joe Cojean, an employee of Snow Crest Lodge, described a chaotic scene in which hundreds of people were stuck and confused as many tried to find housing or just stay warm.
