Two people killed and more than 50 others injured when more than 100 vehicles piled up in China

According to the CGTN public television channel, at least two people were killed and more than 50 wounded following an accident of more than 100 vehicles Saturday in China.

The collision occurred around 8 pm local time on the Sinan-Jianhe and Jiangkou-Weng'an highways in southwest China's Guizhou Province.

A video of the scene shows hundreds of cars and a bus stacked into each other.

The piling took place on slippery roads following the rain in the area.

Most of China has seen snow and ice in recent days, as temperatures near freeze in Guizhou this weekend. The China Meteorological Administration warned of ice yellow on the roads.

Ten of the injured are in critical condition. the CGTN indicates that they are in the hospital.

Traffic on the highway has resumed and the Chinese authorities are investigating this incident.
