$5k reward to find suspected shooter of Chicago 1-year-old boy

Chicago police are offering a $5,000 for anyone who identify the suspected shooter of a 1-year-old boy who was sitting in the back seat of his grandmother's SUV on Thursday night.

The shooting occurred at about 5:30 p.m. in the 9900 block South Throop in the Longwood Manor, when the boy was attacked, apparently mistakenly, while inside his grandmother vehicle along with four other people who were not hurt.

The infant was hit in the head and rushed to Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, then to Comer Children's Hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Authorities described the shooter's car as a dark, older model car. They are investigating surveillance cameras and region's traffic to determine the car's whereabouts.
