Snohomish County Medical Examiner identified the human foot found ashore on an island off Washington as belonging to Antonio Neill, who went missing since 2016 when he was 22-year-old.
The man had been out of prison for one day and asked his mom to spend the night with a friend of his, but never returned. Investigators questioned the friend who said that Neill attacked him and left the house. Courtney O'Keefe, the Sheriff's office spokesperson said that authorities "are keeping all doors open" and "cannot rule out homicide or suicide."
The human foot was found by a passerby walking along the beach on the New Year's Day. It was not severed and apparently came off "natural decomp" as the bone wasn't cut, according to the victim's mother.
