Six people were arrested after federal authorities seized more than 1.7 tons of drugs hidden in loudspeakers shipped from Long Beach, Australia.

Federal authorities reported that the shipment included 3,810 pounds of methamphetamine, 56 pounds of cocaine and 11.5 pounds of heroin.

US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers seized three cargo containers containing drugs on January 11 at the Port of Los Angeles / Long Beach.

After the investigation, Australian federal authorities this week arrested US citizens and four Australian citizens.

Federal officials said the seizure had dealt a major blow to the organization of drug traffickers behind the consignments.

"Together with our law enforcement partners here and around the world, we continue our daily fight against the scourge of methamphetamine that continues to destroy our societies," said Joseph Macias, Special Investigator for Homeland Security.
