Jayme Closs's alleged kidnapper makes first court appearance

The man suspected of kidnapping the 13-year-old Jayme Closs after shooting dead her parents at their home in Baron on October 15 has made his first court appearance on Wednesday without entering a plea.

In his preliminary hearing, 21-year-old Thomas Patterson entered the Barron County, Wisconsin, Circuit Court court wearing an orange prison jumpsuit with cuffs shackling his hands.

According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, the suspect's next court appearance is believed to be on March 27 during which he would be formally charged.

Pattersoon faces two-counts of first-degree murder, counts of kidnapping and armed burglary.

He had previously admitted all the crimes pending against him, reports said.
