Oregon father admits to leaving baby son under debris in woods

An Oregon man has entered a guilty plea after he allegedly left his 5-months-old boy alone under a pile of debris in the woods of western Montana, authorities said.

News outlets said that Francis Carlton Crowley has admitted his acts in Missoula District court Tuesday.

Officials said that the suspect was under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident. He told deputies that the boy was buried somewhere in the mountains. Authorities believed that the boy was left alone about nine hours in the cold. He was transported to the hospital.

The father was charged with child endangerment and criminal endangerment. He was taken to Missoula County Detention Facility and he is expected to be sentenced on March. 12.
