CNN filed a lawsuit against President Trump and top White House aides for barring Jim Acosta, and asks for immediate restoration of his access to the White House.
The lawsuit comes as a response to the suspension of the chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta's press pass last week. It alleges that his First and Fifth Amendment rights are violated along with CNN. It has been filed on Tuesday morning in U.S. District Court in Washington.
Sarah Sanders, deputy chief of staff for communications, responded to the suit saying that CNN is "grandstanding", and that "the administration will vigorously defend itself."
Last Wednesday, Sanders has defended the White House's decision claiming that the reporter has behaved inappropriately at a presidential news conference.
