Three doctors to evaluate ex-cop suspected of armed robberies

5years ago

Rosemont news, Illinois news.

A Rosemont panel of five will find and pay three doctors to examine an ex-cop who was charged with armed robbery and is seeking his disability pension.

Edward Karas, 40-year-old, has been accused of armed robbery of Norridge and Park Ridge gas stations after driving away the main suspect.

"We have information that may not be available to this pension board and sources that we can develop to present that evidence. We also know that Mr Karas is under indictment for a felony," said attorney Matt Rose.

Karas claimed an unrevealed disability before applying for a pension. If awarded, the 13-year veteran could benefits from half his $112,527 annual salary.

The board's upcoming meeting is scheduled for Feb. 25.
