York County news, Pennsylvania news.

A mother of a 1-year-old girl has been charged with aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child after a nurse noticed physical violence when the suspect took the toddler to hospital.

Brandy Gentzler, 22-year-old, was questioned by police on Jan. 28 after she took the girl to hospital in order to treat the second-degree burns that the baby sustained when she put her face under the bathtub hot water. "Please shut up. Are you going to shut up yet?" the mom reportedly said before removing her red, peeling face from the water.

Gentzler confessed to the abusive incident and to many others such as biting her daughter so that she would learn that biting hurts.

Gentzler's bail was set on a $100,000 bond. Her next court appearance is expected for Feb. 26.
