Federal Aviation Administration said that a twin-engine small plane crashed into a home setting it ablaze, killing five people and sending to others to hospital.
The Cessna 414A crashed in Yorba Linda neighborhood at about 1:45 p.m. after taking off from the Fullerton Municipal Airport. The main body of the plane was found in the backyard of a nearby home, not far from the crash scene.
The four occupants of the burned house died from flames. The plane pilot had the same fate. Two other victims, including a fire fighter were hospitalized.
The Orange County Fire Authority said that the search for additional victims will continue as rainy weather helped extinguish the fire. The cause of the plane crash remains under the National Transportation and Safety Board's investigation.
