Salinas police revealed the name of the suspect involved in the shootings where an officer was shot.
The suspect is Guadalupe Aguirre Espinosa, 38 years old.
He was in the hospital after the shootings, but was released and placed in a Monterey County jail on the charge of firing a gun, probation violation and meth posession.
His bond was set at $ 1 million.
On Facebook early Sunday morning, the Salinas Police Department wrote that the shippers had received a call regarding a man referring a gun to the client, at the Safeway on Constitution Boulevard. Five officers responded to the scene.
Maldonado says the police opened fire because Espinosa was hitting a firearm.
