Roli Lopez-Sanchez, 37, of Plano, Texas, was convicted by a jury this week for impregnating an 11-year-old girl, according to a statement from prosecutors in the province of Collin. He will spend 60 years behind bars. He will not be eligible for parole.
the Dallas Morning News reported that medical workers informed the authorities in February 2018 after an 11-year-old pregnant woman arrived at their office and said Lopez Sanchez had raped her.
The girl and her brothers were abducted from their homes by child protection services after an investigation. The victim, then aged 12, gave birth during the summer. A DNA sample confirmed that he was the father of the new baby.
Lopez Sanchez has been in custody since his arrest in February 2018. The Associated Press also said he was also facing federal immigration.
