Three Zion teens charged after fleeing stolen car crash, attacking witness

Three Zion teens were charged following a Beach Park traffic crash that occurred on Friday morning while they drove a stolen car.

18-year-old Stephon D. Currie of the 1800 block of Hebron Avenue and two other juveniles have been reported to police by a witness who saw them fleeing the car crash scene and tried to stop them. The witness was allegedly attacked by the three suspects.

Zion police officers could later locate the teens who were arrested and taken into custody.

D. Currie was charged with aggravated battery and criminal trespass to vehicle. The second suspect, a 16-year-old, was charged with possession of a stolen car, aggravated battery and mob action, while the 15-year-old third suspect was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle and criminal trespass to a vehicle.
