Rapper Bow was charged after a fight with a woman on Saturday morning.
The rapper, whose real name is Shad Moss, was arrested Saturday in Atlanta, Atlanta police said in an email.
The police accused Moss and the woman, Leslie Holden, of the drums because they could not determine who was the main assailant.
Police said the two were slightly injured and were taken to Fulton County Prison.
Moss was released Saturday after being detained on $ 8,000 bail.
Holden did not comment on the arrest.
Moss lawyer Joe S. Habay said Holden was the main assailant.
The only two independent witnesses confirmed her account of events, stating that Mrs. Holden was simply out of control and was undoubtedly the main culprit, for no logical reason. The officers then apprehended both parties despite clear evidence that Bau Wau was the victim. In the case, Mrs. Holden hit him with a lamp and glared at him while Bow made persistent efforts to avoid it. "Bow suffered multiple injuries, some of which were visible in plain view."
