Elmhurst news, Illinois news.

A County Cook judge set a $100,000 bail for the man suspected of robbing a 70-year-old woman's purse.

The incident occurred outside the Jewel at York and Butterfield on Friday at around 6:30 p.m.

52-year-old Hiram Rosario was setting in his vehicle and noticed the elderly woman exiting the store. He left his car, approached the elderly woman and allegedly forced her into another vehicle trying to stole her purse. He was arrested shortly later, witnesses said.

DuPage County State's attorney Robert Berlin stated: "It's alleged that Rosario waited patiently for a victim to appear and that once his victim exited the store, he set his sights in what appeared to be an easy target, an elderly woman alone in a parking lot."
