Joplin news, Washington news.

Joplin police announced the arrest of a homicide suspect wanted since January. 14, after he fled the crime scene.

Michael Osborne, 33, was wanted in connection with a first degree murder that occurred in Joplin, where police found Shawn M. Rockers, 27, fatally assaulted and laying in the road on 3rd and Connor. The suspect was then considered armed and dangerous.

US Marshals were able to track down Osborne nearly two weeks after he fled the area and headed to Washington.

"Michael Osborne was arrested tonight in the State of Washington for his homicide Warrant for murder," Joplin Police Department said in a statement. "More information will follow tomorrow as this happened moments ago. We wanted the community to know and we appreciate the tips."
