According to reports, a suspect who boarded a bus Wednesday in Butte and took hostages surrendered after ten hours of conflict with the police,

The suspect was apparently armed with an explosive device and a firearm. According to reports, shots were fired, but none of the hostages were wounded. According to Butte police officers were fired on the bus to force the suspect out. None of the officers were injured.

The scene took place when a single suspect boarded a Jefferson Lines bus and ordered the driver to go to the Butte courthouse, according to a witness.
