Houston news, Texas news.

A Houston officer who was severly wounded during a shooting on Monday wrote a note in which he said: "I had to go in, I knew my guys were down."

While serving a search warrant at a home, the 32-year veteran of the force has breached the door of a suspected drug dealer. He was shot for the third time of his duty, after being shot twice in 1992 and 1997, Houston Police Chief Art Acevado states Tuesday.

The 54-year-old supervisor who was described as being "tough as nail", is described by his collegue as a "big teddy bear" and a strong and couragous person.

Acevado claimed: "I am going to rub that man for two reasons. One, I want some of his courage to rub off on me and the other thing I want, he'd done something good in life that God really watches over him."
