A woman from Stamford died after police said she fell down the stairs in a subway station in Manhattan while carrying her 1-year-old child in a stroller and several shopping bags.

Malaysia Goodson, 22, of Stamford, was found unconscious on the southbound platform inside the Seventh Avenue B D E station subway station in midtown at around 8 p.m. Monday, police said. She was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Her 1-year-old daughter, named Rhylee, was found conscious at the scene. She wasn't hurt and is staying current with her father.
