Houston shooting: 5 police officers hospitalized

Reports announced Monday the release of one of the five Houston police officers who were injured during a shootout as they served a search warrant at the house of suspected drug dealers.

One of the officers had a knee wound and is now in good condition while the two others who suffered gunshot injuries to the neck were hospitalized in critical condition at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, Houston police said.

Police department tweeted: "HPD responding to a scene at 7800 Harding where officers have been struck with gunfire following an encounter with a suspect", "officers are en route to the hospital, please avoid the area and yield for emergency vehicles. Further updates were be provided as available."
