An American tourist has been sentenced to eight years in prison for murdering his Tinder date and transporting her severed head in his suitcase while scattering the remaining parts of her corpse in the mountains.

Yevgeniy Vasilievich Bayraktar strangled 27-year-old Saki Kondo at a condominium rented out to tourists.

Bayraktar was on vacation in Japan and was believed to have been alone.

He met Kondo on a dating app, either Tinder or Match app, according to Tokyo Sports.

He admitted killing the victim dismembering her and scattering her body parts around several cities in Japan last year.

Kondo was last seen alive in security footage, which shows her entering Bayraktar's vacation rental property in Osaka on February 15.

Prosecutors didn’t indict Bayraktar for murder because they couldn’t prove he intended to kill Kondo.

He was instead sentenced to eight years after being charged with manslaughter and abandonment of a body.

Kondo’s father told reporters that the eight-year sentence is “too light and the truth remains unknown.”

Before meeting Kondo, Bayraktar had reportedly met several Japanese women online and also taken them to different vacation rentals around Japan. The other women were found to be safe.
