Man shot to death outside Charlotte gas station.

A man was shot and killed outside a gas station in northeast Charlotte Sunday evening, police said.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police were called to the Shell gas station near the intersection of Mallard Creek Road and Carolina Lilly Lane a little after 6:30 Sunday evening. When police got to the scene, they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound in the parking lot. He was pronounced dead at the scene by MEDIC.

Authorities later identified the victim as Patrick Alonzo Alston, 36. Police did not mention a motive or suspect in the case.

A manhunt is underway for the gunman.
