Authorities announced Friday the arrest of a 24-old-man after a 4-year-old boy accidentally grabbed a firearm and shot his mother in Norwalk.
Prosecutors said that Brandon Gilbert Ambriz negligently left the gun in the car while carrying children.
The incident occurred in the 14600 block of Dinard Street in Norwalk near a school Wednesday, Jan, 23 at around 3:30 p.m. when the boy fired at his mother setting in the driver's seat with three children in the back seat of the vehicle. She was shot in the torso and urgently transferred to the hospital.
Police still investigate the relationship between Ambriz and the family.
He could face four counts of child abuse and one count of possession of firearm by a felony.
