The accident occurred on the Rutor Glacier near La Thuile in the Aosta Valley, near the border between northern Italy, France and Switzerland.

Five people were confirmed dead and two injured Friday.

The two people who were still missing were found after the resumption of the search on Saturday morning, according to an officer of the financial police in charge of alpine rescue in Courmayeur, in the Aosta Valley.
