Virginia college student facing homicide charges for stabbing fellow classmate to death.

A southwestern Virginia college student was arrested Thursday for stabbing a fellow classmate to death.

21-year-old Radford University student Luisa Ines Tudela Harris Cutting was charged with second-degree murder. She's set to appear in court Friday.

According to a search warrant, the Radford Police Department, Police were dispatched at about 7:45 a.m. to the 1200 block of Clement Street after hearing a woman yelling “and making reference to a knife.”

Police knocked on the door of the apartment and were met by a woman covered in blood. She turned around and put her hands behind her back and said, “Arrest me,” the search warrant said.

When a police officer asked what was going on, the woman said “I killed her,” the search warrant said. The officer looked into the apartment and saw a woman with multiple stab wounds lying on the floor.

The woman on the floor had a butcher knife sticking out of her mouth, the search warrant said.

The victim, Alexis Cannon was listed as the slain woman on the arrest warrant. she was a student at Radford University.

University spokeswoman Caitlyn Scaggs says Cutting is now on interim suspension at the school. She couldn't say if the suspension pre-dated the slaying. It's unclear if Cutting has an attorney.
